Cuba: Fidel Castro Dead at 90

"Ever onward,
to victory."
slogan of the Cuban Revolution

Well, he's gone....finally. Only through death did he leave the scene. Nothing lasts forever.

This scary man who we thought in 1962 would be the cause of a war between the USA and the Soviet Union is gone.

Actually, he retired in 2008 and his brother, Raúl, now 85, took over. However, Raúl, both a revolutionary with Fidel and regarded as the pragmatic one, has promised to step down in 2018 and a new man will replace him, the first man who isn't a Castro or a revolutionary in over 50 years.

Who the next president will be is still a mystery, but there are a lot of educated guesses in the air.

"History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him," U.S. President Barack Obama said, extending "a hand of friendship" to Cuba.
